From The Nook Podcast

People get sick and then they deal with it, or at least normal people do. Take last week for instance. I might have been pushing myself a little too hard and my body said, “You know what dude, you are going to rest because I’m making you.” So I got sick and needed to rest. However, when one takes an extended rest they sometimes have too much time on their hands. When that happens, well, let’s just say it has the making for a great episode of a podcast.

In this episode: ep42: B.I.R.D. is the word

  • quick get inside me, I have a fat liver
  • Guns make people who hate, lazy
  • B.I.R.D. is the word

From The Nook Podcast

The thing about one’s life is while on our journey we will most certainly take turns for the best and the worst.  We will have our highs and our lows. The thing about having your own podcast, or at least one like mine, my listeners have the unfortunate luck to hear me go through these darker turns into the face of self-doubt and personal drudgery.  Is this an awakening? Does this road I am traveling take us to a place of glory or instead do I take you all to an empty space where you witness only carnage? Maybe it’s both but you’ll need to walk the same road to find out the answer.

In this episode:

  • luetooth technology and the ears of wisdom
  • Obeying our laws or otherwise it’s just anarchy
  • Jiffy can lube me

From The Nook Podcast

After an amazing three week Holiday vacation, I was frothing at the mouth to get back to my podcast.  While on my vacation I had plenty of adventures to last at least a dozen new episodes. It started with dangerous plastic packaging and frustrating password protected sites. I had a party at the edge of the fiscal cliff which has now left me with a lonely porn mustache and ended with a sobering flight to Seattle aboard SkyWest. All of which has the making for a great episode of From The Nook.

In this episode: Party at the Edge of the Cliff

  • Hard Plastic Wrapping and a side of steamers
  • Password protected sniffing underwear.
  • A story about crawling, A story about dignity

To get the full impact of this episode, you’ll need to watch this video first:

Let’s face it; if there is one thing the world doesn’t need, it is people who are deviants to our society. Our culture is filled with them though.   You can find them everywhere, from your traditional teenage and grade school bullies to someone who can’t even drive down the street without risking everyone’s life around them. And for what, all because they felt slighted while merging into one lane of traffic? It can be as insignificant as not answering your cell phone when we all know you’re not really away from it, to an extreme example of what might just be the worst human ever filmed on video.  In this episode I break them down in the Nook.  You should ask yourself this question, what kind of person are you and are you even contributing to the growth of mankind.  If your answer is “I’m a monster and no.” Then don’t bother listening to this podcast, instead do us all a favor and take yourself out of the equation.

In this episode: The Human factor

  • Answer your phone cause it’s in your pocket
  • Move over! I’m more important
  • Teaching family values for generations to come.

From The Nook Podcast

The process of Self-discovery is always so uniquely different with each person.  When given the opportunity to take to the Nook, my special guest and up-and-coming local Portland, OR comedian Xander Deveaux, didn’t waste any time.  His segment literally starts in the fourth grade and then he takes you on a journey from his seriously dark and traumatizing life situations to the moment he decided who he needed to be. Xander never paints himself the victim; instead it was if everything was for a reason. I can tell you first hand from watching him live, it all was for a reason and his story, although just beginning, has turned out just fine.

In this episode:

Xander Deveaux

  • I might be mental
  • You look right
  • Hey I did this so I’m a lady now.
  • Saddest Tom Waits Song ever

From The Nook Podcast

I don’t think people ever think about this but not everyone in our own personal circle of life can be trusted.  There are many types of untrustworthy people.  There are out right liars, people who thrive on drama, people who really believe in the stories they spew out.  This means we all must have our own tell in order to weed out the liars from the truth-tellers.  My tell: In more cases than not, if you have little lips, you just can’t be trusted.  There are a few exceptions to my rule but not enough to overturn my ruling.

In this episode:

  • I was so scared I made a noise, which made everything about that moment disturbing
  • Who thought a  drive through window on the passenger side was a good idea?
  • I don’t trust little lips

From The Nook Podcast

When posed with a countdown to the end of the world in just 24 days one starts to contemplate what one would do if they only had less than a month to live. I can tell you right now there is a lot I haven’t wanted to do because I want to live a full and rich life and go out with a great legacy I can be proud of. However, if I only had a month, there is a list of things I’d like to check off. Let’s face it, when faced with death, life becomes worth living.

In this episode:

  • The world is coming to an end
  • Hey Colon, you are starting to frighten me.
  • I can’t fight so if faced with a confrontation, I will need to kill them

From The Nook Podcast

I wrap up part 2 of a two of a part series this week and it will go down as one of my favorite podcast episodes ever.  As I turn 41 on Tuesday, the last few weeks have been all about exploring my past and what it was like growing up.   In part 1 I talk about my parent’s 50th anniversary and the last 50 years of their life.  Now in part 2, I explore the last 40 years of my life. I give my very first interview and it is with my mom.  If there was any mystery in your mind about how I became who I am today; after listening to us talk, I can assure you, everything will become crystal clear. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

In this episode:

  • (An interview with my mom)
  • By the time you came along
  • Witches hat
  • Orthopedic Boot
  • I thought you just didn’t like your left side
